Traditional Undergraduate

Advising is an opportunity for students to connect with a School of Education faculty member one on one. These advising sessions, which occur twice a year, allow students to talk through their hopes and wishes as they come through the PLNU undergraduate program. As part of that process, students receive a hardcopy and virtual advising guide that they will use to plan their four years. These tools are meant for students to plan an academic path that aligns with their interests, skills, and long-term career goals.

Department Chapel

Once a semester chapel is designated for Department Chapel. During this meeting we will review course updates, experience opportunities, and answer student questions.

Twice a semester, our School of Education team reviews course planning to pursue a CA teaching credential through PLNU.  Meetings cover information for single and multiple-subject credential candidates.

Cross-Disciplinary Studies: Teacher Education

The Cross-Disciplinary Studies: Teacher Education major, offered at Point Loma’s undergraduate campus is an ideal major for aspiring teachers wanting to teach at the elementary grade levels.

Single-Subject Credential Details

Undergraduate candidates interested in pursuing a single-subject credential are encouraged to pursue a degree in their specific content area. Students from various departments may take SOE undergraduate courses to begin the credential process.
