Fieldwork Courses

Candidates complete the following fieldwork courses:

EDU 3002

Foundations of Education and Learning Theory

  • 20 hours of field experience

  • General education, K-12th grade classroom

  • Specific to culturally diverse learners

  • Setting must be culturally diverse and inclusive

  • Observe for specific teaching components as directed by the professor

  • Work directly with students at the direction of the host teacher

EDU 4004

Foundations of Special Education

  • 20 hours of field experience

  • General Education, K-12th grade classroom

  • Specific to culturally diverse learners

  • Setting must be culturally diverse and inclusive (including students with special needs)

  • Observe for specific teaching components as directed by the professor

  • Work directly with students at the direction of the host teacher

Principles of Language Acquisition

  • 20 hours of field experience

  • General education, K-12th grade classroom

  • Specific to culturally and linguistically diverse learners

  • Setting must be culturally diverse and inclusive

  • Work directly with English Learners in small groups and one-on-one

Differentiated Math Instruction for All Learners

  • 20 hours of field experience

  • General education, K-12th grade classroom

  • Specific to math instruction

  • Setting must be culturally diverse and inclusive (including students with special needs and students who are English Learners)

  • Work directly with the whole class and/or small groups teaching math
