The School of Education’s Graduate Student Orientation provides a virtual community experience for our candidates to get to know Point Loma Nazarene University’s mission and vision statement, our policies and resources, and concludes with an individualized experience to get to know their support network through breakout rooms.

This highly-encouraged event is attended by our new and current candidates pursuing any program in the School of Education.

When is SOE GSO?
SOE GSO is offered every semester and is mandatory for our new candidates.
It is open for our current candidates as well. If you would like to participate in SOE GSO to meet incoming candidates and connect with the SOE staff and faculty, please let your respective Advising team know that you would like to attend so we can send you the zoom link.
We will be posting the updated dates and times here so please check out our Calendar to view when the next SOE GSO will take place.

How can I RSVP for SOE GSO?
For new candidates, we will be sending out communications beginning 4 weeks before the upcoming dates of SOE GSO. In those communications, you will see a link for a google form to RSVP. Make sure you RSVP so your program director knows to expect your presence and prepare an individual experience through breakout rooms for our candidates in their respective programs.
For current candidates, please let your respective Advising team know that you would like to attend so we can send you the zoom link.
What if I can't attend SOE GSO?
No worries! We will post a recording of SOE GSO’s main room in our Youtube page soon after so all of our candidates who were unable to attend can view in their own time. We do not post the breakout rooms portion so our candidates get the individual one-on-one experience with faculty and staff. As each SOE GSO event occurs, we will be updating the video posted in our Youtube page.
